Projects
Bruce Heiberg

The Projects Committee, headed by Bruce Heiberg, oversees and coordinates the following activities:
Education
  • Provide speakers to groups and schools
  • Periodically host symposiums
TrashBash
  • Provide volunteers a chance to clean up a section of Houston's Buffalo Bayou in conjunction with the Houston-Galveston Area Council's annual TrashBash® event
Bayou Image Catalog
  • Collect, catalog, and digitize historic and current photos and digital images of Houston's Bayous for viewing and distribution via the BPA web site
Bayou Vegetation
  • Serve on the Vegetation SubCommittee of the Harris County Flood Control District
Native Tree and Shrub Planting and Invasive Species Removal
  • Plant trees and shrubs along selected Houston streams and bayou
  • Remove invasive species such as Chinese tallow, ligustrum, privet, paper mulberry, and others
