Little Cypress Creek flows through Zube Park (pronounced zoo-bee), a great recreational park located in Hockley, Texas, just north of Katy. It has six soccer fields, playgrounds, grills, pavilions and hiking trails, but what really attracts families to Zube is the 1/8 scale Cypress Creek and Southern Railroad steam train operated by Houston Area Live Steamers (HALS). Six miles of fun keep families coming back for more. Train rides are free the third Saturday of every month, March through November. For more information on train rides call HALS at 281-758-8012 or go to www.hals.org.
