We are delighted to announce Bayou Preservation Association’s 17th Annual Symposium will be going virtual this year and span two days to reach a wider audience than ever before! Taking place on Thursday, October 1 and Friday, October 2, 2020 from 8 AM to 12 PM via GoToWebinar, this year’s Symposium theme Bayou-Diversity: Celebrate, Protect & Restore will address the expanding importance of diversity in all its forms — physical, geomorphological, biological, socioeconomic, and conceptual.

THEME & SPEAKERS

"Explore the broad interconnectivity of diverse landscapes, wildlife, recreational uses, and communities that our bayous support and how critical our waterways are to enriching our region’s future growth."

This year, we will hear from local agencies and experts on how multi-faceted diversity contributes to the longevity and growth of our community as well as our unique bayou systems. We will explore the broad interconnectivity of diverse landscapes, wildlife, recreational uses, and communities that our bayous support and how critical our waterways are to enriching our region’s future growth.

To contribute to the discussion, we have invited representatives from Asakura Robinson, City of Houston, Houston Audubon, Houston Parks Board, the Kinder Institute for Urban Research, Memorial Park Conservancy, Nature Conservancy, SWCA Environmental Consultants, and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. We also have an engaging panel discussion moderated by Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner Jack Cagle, which will explore the panel’s vision and our charge for the future.

SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

"With this year’s virtual, 2-day event, we intend to surpass previous years’ attendance and engage a broader audience than ever before."

The Symposium has become a sought-after event among key policy makers, planners, scientists, and engineers who value the expertise presented throughout the event. With this year’s virtual, 2-day event, we intend to surpass previous years’ attendance and engage an even broader audience on emerging water quality issues and possible solutions.

This year, sponsorships are more important than ever. Recognizing the impacts of COVID-19 on many in our community and the shift to a virtual platform, we are offering reduced-price tickets. Sponsor support, however, will guarantee these important discussions take place and secure the future of this critical event. Trusted sponsors are entitled to a range of benefits outlined on form below. Click the form or here to view the full document.
