About The Event
Harness the power of rain and turn every drop into a resource for your home and your community.
Join us for the Rainwater Harvesting Workshop — part of the 2026 Neighborhood Resilience Network Series, three free, hands-on events designed to equip Houstonians with practical tools for more sustainable homes and resilient communities.
Led by Master Gardener Teresa See, this workshop will teach you how to capture and reuse rainwater to reduce runoff, conserve water, and support the health of Houston's bayous. Participants will gain hands-on experience assembling a rain barrel system and leave with the skills and confidence to set one up at home.

A limited number of rain barrel kits will be raffled off during the workshop!
If You Win a Rain Barrel Come prepared! You'll need the following tools for a successful installation at home:
Safety glasses, safety gloves, drill, measuring tape, pencil, scissors, Phillips screwdriver, level, sandpaper (80–120 grit), primer and paint, silicone sealant, and cinderblocks or materials to create a level, elevated base.

About the Presenter
Teresa See | Master Gardener Teresa has been a Master Gardener since 2005 and brings deep expertise in rainwater harvesting, composting, Earth-Kind landscaping, water efficiency, and vegetable gardening. She actively volunteers across community centers, libraries, churches, and garden clubs, making her an exceptional guide for this hands-on workshop.
