About The Event

Bayou Preservation Association, along with the Houston Bar Association and community partners, invites volunteers to help honor and preserve the legacy of Dawson Lunnon Cemetery, a historic African American cemetery in Houston’s East End.


Volunteers will help with landscaping, mowing, clearing, and beautifying the grounds, and participate in installing a historical marker. This project continues the Houston Bar Association’s longstanding commitment to Dawson Lunnon Cemetery, reflecting a shared dedication to community, remembrance, and preservation.


Details & Volunteer Info:

  • Open to HBA members, individuals, families, and friends (ages 10+)

  • Tools provided; restrooms available on-site

  • Please wear long sleeves, pants, and closed-toe shoes
