Jim & Joann Fonteno Park Litter Cleanup

Two Areas to Clean-up

We will be focusing on two separate sections of the park to pick up litter and debris. Section One will be along the Yellowbird Bike Trails in the Northern Section of the Park and Preserve. This section will be the easier of the clean-up to walk and work.

The Second Section will be in the lower half of the park along the banks of Big Gulch and the adjoining paths. This section includes upaved, elevated, and rugged terrian. There will also be opportunities to learn about Houston’s local flora and fauna from the staff at Bayou Preservation Association.

Why it Matters

Our bayou and park are a treasure trove of natural beauty, providing us with clean air, recreational opportunities, and a habitat for wildlife. By participating in this clean-up, you are actively contributing to the well-being of our environment and ensuring that future generations can enjoy these spaces as much as we do.

What to Bring:

- Long sleeve shirt and pants that can get dirty.

- Closed-toe shoes.

- A reusable water bottle to stay hydrated.

- Sunscreen and Bug Spray
